A Walk Down Memory Lane.... for $65 a Day.

Thanks to Faith, I went back downstairs to Jyss today for lessons. Its amazing, like just 3 years down the road and this time I went back not as a student but some sort of a teacher of the day.

It was weird; and the sense of familiarity that I thought I always had with the alma mater had somehow lost. Its like, it has only been 1 year since I last went back and everything has somehow changed already and showhow, so have I. Time really flies, and that made me realised that we cannot deny that we're seriously growing up too fast, and too furious.

So for the lessons, all I had to do was babysit 'cos I couldnt teach and haven't got anything prepared to entertain them given the fact that I was only informed 45 mins before lesson starts. But overall, it was kinda fun - with students laughing over your name everytime they finish greeting you (so i gave them 1 min to laugh then ordered them to sit down), talking back, and even arm wrestling in class. I really miss the bunch of sec1s man. :D

Besides that, went around after breakfast at canteen to have a look at the school and started feeling nostalgia about sec school life once again. Despite having many new additions, someparts remained unchange. I sat down at the tables outside staffroom- the then newly added furniture back in 2004.Those were the days we did our work there during night study, sneaked in tibbits and went for waffle ice cream sessions @ the then new CC. The orange wall was still there - the place where the original cakes cam whored! (:

And there was the 3rd storey study area which seemed rather abandoned now - the MT regular hangout. WN's vandalism was still on one of those benches! Haha.

And that was also the place that house our saturday breakfasts which we tried too hard to keep them discreet which still feel like ytd though not so the same anymore. Then there were the house events -sports days, post exam relays etc. I missed guides too after passing by GG room and seeing the curtain of our times still hanging around - the GG room deco periods, Ikea trips, studying sessions inside, meetings, games, gadget making, the everything.

I missed the people too. The people that werent there anymore - KS, Koh, Chew, Neo.. Its like Jyss doesn't seem like Jyss anymore without them, without 4e4, without people that matters. And suddenly, I miss our East District, our gossips and our classic jokes.

I miss calling Ms Neo -Ah Hong, the PE teacher - Ah Meng and KS, Ah Kuang. I thought abt the encouragement notes from Chew, the lollies from Koh in my yellow sock and how no teachers will ever do that again.

I miss everything so much despite the school being across the road from home. I miss all so much that I don't feel like stepping in back here again and destory my wonderful memories of it.

And money sake aside, thats the way it should be. Some things are best staying the way it is - as memories.

Others, lets keep moving on.
